From vibrant cities to quaint villages, the country has it all. Since the country is vast, it is difficult to travel throughout Vietnam without transiting through Ho Chi Minh City. Because of this, we chose to spend a few days exploring the city. And stay at the city’s newest and most luxurious hotel: The Reverie Saigon.

Our Introduction:

From arrival to departure, a stay at The Reverie Saigon is pure luxury. We were greeted at the airport by The Reverie’s car and driver. The car is a luxurious Mercedes sedan that provides a comfortable way to reach the property. The vehicle has Wi-Fi which allows guests like us to reconnect to the world. Also, the car has an iPad for entertainment. Travelers can select music from several playlists as well as learn more about The Reverie before arrival.

Location:

The Reverie is located in the central business district. This allows business guests to be close to work. However, leisure guests like ourselves benefit being close to all of the city’s attractions. Ho Chi Minh City has loads of neighborhoods to explore. This lends itself to being very walkable. Studying markets and food is our passion and this city delivers!

A stay at The Reverie Saigon stimulates all senses. The exquisite and bold interior design is unapologetic opulence. Italy’s top designers create a magical whimsy that combines a feeling of both Italian and Asian opulence. A lovely scent permeates the hotel and is neither overwhelming nor annoying. Starting on the 27th floor, the property is Ho Chi Minh’s highest hotel. This provides us with an expansive view of the serendipitous Saigon River and the ever-growing metropolis.

Rooms:

Wow” is an on-point exclamation of our impression. There are five different rooms and suites categories to suit your needs and desires. Our suite is jaw-droppingly stunning. Decadent aristocratic luxury oozing with modernity abounds in the suite. Floor to ceiling windows showcases the bustling city below. The bathroom is spacious with his and her sinks. And, of course, the hotel has Tom’s favorite toy: a fancy Japanese toilet with all the bells and whistles. Being a new hotel, The Reverie rooms and suites showcase the latest in technology. Power outlets and charging stations are readily available. Almost everything can be handled by the touch of a button beside the bed. To open or close the window drapes, press a button. If you want to conceal the TV and have it hidden in the armoire, push a button. Need to reach your butler, assistance is a finger push away.

Dining:

Some options are available, ranging from upscale Cantonese cuisine to a casual, yet sophisticated deli. Café Cardinal is a French cuisine venue that also serves a lovely Eurasian style brunch. This breakfast buffet is one of my favorites. Firstly, there is nothing better than free-flowing champagne to start the day. If it’s a little early for an adult beverage, the Vietnamese coffee is stellar as well. The marble counters overflow with fruit, cereal, salads, slices of bread, charcuterie, pate, cheeses, dim sum, hot dishes, and desserts. Also, we select the main course to “supplement” the buffet. Each morning, Tom and I indulged in the delicious Bun Bo Hue, made to order in the open kitchen. The Long @ Times Square is an Italian style bar spanning the ground floor. We love the people watching from the bar stools. Be sure to stop by for happy hour treats and stay for live jazz music in the evening.

Activities:

The two-level spa offers indulgent treatments to pamper your body and soul. Be sure to arrive early or stay late to enjoy the fitness and relaxation rooms. The outdoor swimming pool is a refreshing place to take a dip and watch the hubbub of the city in a tranquil environment. Executive Club Lounge: The lounge spans two levels on the top two floors of the hotel. During our stay, there were only a handful of other guests at the bar. As with most luxury hotel club lounges, food service is available throughout the day, including afternoon tea and after dinner treats. I usually have work to do on vacations, and the Executive lounge is a great place to accomplish tasks. After a few hours of computer work in the afternoon, I am rewarded with a cocktail hour. I enjoyed nibbling on made to order appetizers and sipping on my favorite adult beverage, champagne! It’s a great way to end the work day and start a fun evening out on the town.

Insider Tip
For romance, few experiences beat The Origin of Love signature spa treatment — champagne and caviar by candlelight followed by an aromatic body scrub and massage.

Our Tips:

The Reverie Saigon is not your “average” luxury hotel. It is not part of a chain. It is not cookie cutter. It is not boring. The Reverie Saigon IS uniquely special and teems with Eurasian elegance and top-notch service. Tom and I have stayed at many luxury properties around the world, and The Reverie Saigon is in its’ category of elegant sophistication. From start to finish, our retreat was stellar. We highly recommend staying at this one of a kind property. You will be hard pressed to find any other property, anywhere that provides the same level of service, with the same degree of lavishness.
