There was never a bride who did not dream of a perfect wedding —a beautiful dress, three-tiered creamy white cake, and that perfect kiss, which binds her with the love of her life. The trends in the wedding market indicate that one in every four weddings happening all over the world is opting for a destination wedding. Destination wedding is the perfect stage for couples to have their marriage far away from the annoying crowd, with only the loved ones as witnesses to the sacred ceremony.

Destination weddings are popular mainly because depending on the location and budget, you can turn it into a grand upscale event, and customize it with a combination of vacations, hotels memorable stays, games and other events, ceremonies and honeymoon. The event can last anywhere between three days to a week. It also provides opportunity to have fun and happiness in stress-free environments. What better way than this to start one’s marital life!

Let us look at some exotic places, which could be the location of your dream wedding.

The Island of Hawaii

Aloha! And that, my dear friends is the simple and popular form of greeting each other in this exotic land.

There are mainly eight big islands, which could be the perfect place for your picture-perfect wedding. Literally. It is a guarantee that photographs will be Instagram-Facebook-ready and you can forget all about filters and photo editing apps.

What do you have in mind? Sunsets? Check. Beaches? Double check. Exotic dinners, vacation spots, spa, water and adventure spots? Check, check and check. All the main islands — Oahu, Kauai, Maui, The Big Island, Molokai, Lanai — have several hotels and resorts that are available at your disposal for hosting The Grand Wedding of your dreams. Some of the popular hotels that host destination weddings in the state are Turtle Bay Resort, Kualoa Ranch, Loulu Palm, Shipwreck Beach, Hanalei Bay on the North Shore, and Kahua Ranch.

Agreed, the first image that strikes when you imagine a wedding at Hawaii is obviously a serene beach ceremony. However, the tropical paradise of this volcanic archipelago offers other options too with lush green meadows, flower-filled gardens, and hillsides. These choices include ceremonies in oriental-style gardens or with waterfalls in the background. If you are feeling more adventurous, there is of course, underwater wedding. The ceremony can also have unique live music or traditional Hawaiian ballads, and the Hawaiian or the Polynesian show, which includes drummer and fire-knife dancer, making the wedding an unforgettable experience.

If ‘when in Rome…’ indicates we should dress like a Roman; then you can also choose from wedding packages that allow you to wed in the Hawaiian style. The groom wears ‘leis’ (garland) of maile while bride wears ‘pikeke’.  Bride can also have a ‘haku head lei’ (headband) or blossoms in the hair and an ankle haku if it is a barefoot ceremony. Guess, it’s time to check out how to say ‘I love you’ in Hawaiian language…
