Most recently, we traveled to Nevis for an 8 night stay at the incomparable Four Seasons Resort. The trip served as a joint birthday/belated honeymoon vacation. From our arrival to our farewell, our stay was nothing short of spectacular!

The Four Seasons Nevis has it all. There are a variety of ways to unwind and relax. Equally important, you can choose to be as active as you wish. The choice is yours! Tom and I jumped into each with equal abandon. Throughout our visit, we explored the dichotomy of leisure activities and sports at the Four Seasons Nevis. We were thoroughly impressed with every experience!

Naturally, being a resort on the tranquil island of Nevis, the Four Seasons offers an exceptional range of relaxation activities. One of our highlights was our day at the Spa. We had an amazing lemongrass hot stone massage, a most delectable lunch, and a relaxing afternoon of lounging, reading, and napping.

If the beach is calling you, consider splurging on a serene beach house for the day. Tom and I had never done this before and we were thoroughly impressed. The Four Seasons Nevis beach houses are cute gingerbread house like cottages. They have comfortable seating, loungers, and a dining table within the house. There is also a mini refrigerator and a TV. Outside the house, there are loungers on your own personal deck as well as reserved chairs on the beach. When we arrived, we were greeted with a fresh fruit plate and pastries. The mini refrigerator was stocked with a variety of beverages. Our personal butler for the day catered to our every need, including constant ice replenishments and taking our lunch and bar orders. If you are adults, the beach houses are located steps away from the “kids free” pool. However, if you are a family with children, the family friendly pools are also situated nearby. If you are interested in watersports, a short walk up the beach leads you to the equipment rental area. You can truly be as active or as relaxed as you want to be!

Tom and I spent a few days at the beach and tried out a number of water sports. We enjoyed snorkeling where Tom saw a stingray, in addition to a number of fish. Tom introduced me to stand up paddleboarding, which was a lot of fun. We also did some sea kayaking, swimming, and playing on the large floating trampoline. If you are interested in motorized sports, rentals are available onsite.

If golf  is an interest, the course at the Four Seasons is incredible. With sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea and St. Kitts, there is no better backdrop in which to play. If you are a beginner or simply want to improve your game, the resort has incredible and patient pros to guide you to your goals.

I have never played tennis, so I took the opportunity during my stay to become introduced to the sport. Once again, there are pros on site to teach completely new players or to refine skills for more seasoned players. The courts are beautifully maintained. And, since this is the Four Seasons, the service and attention to detail is top notch. Each court has a resting gazebo complete with cool washcloths, towels, water, and Gatorade. Everyone, from the pro shop to the instructors, is incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating.

We participated in a few activities that took us offsite. One memorable afternoon was spent on a catamaran and snorkel excursion. We departed from the resort’s dock for a lovely cruise to a tranquil and picturesque spot in the Caribbean Sea off St. Kitts. You can choose to lounge on the boat, snorkel and swim around the reef, or a combination of both. Once again, you can be active or simply relax on deck or in the shade.

The ultimate experience for us was the dive and dine excursion. This experience is unique to the Four Seasons Nevis. We dove with Executive Chef Jason Adams to a wreck site 72 feet below sea level. Tom and I both got the chance to catch several lobsters by lasso. Upon our return, we had an amazing beachside lunch featuring the catch of the day…Our lobsters! From the amazingly breathtaking and interesting dive experience to the personal interaction with Chef Adams, we could not imagine there being a better activity to celebrate our honeymoon and birthday vacation!
